Which locks does this app simulate?

Combo Lock 101 simulates single-dial mechanical combination locks. These are the types usually found on padlocks, school lockers and older safes. Electronic and multiple-dial locks are not covered.

Why does the dialing demonstration show a ×3, ×2, ×1 sequence? This isn't how I open my lock.

It's actually the same dialing technique you use, but demonstrated in a way that covers all lock types in the simulation. When you dial "at least two turns to A, back past A to B, then back to C", you are in fact visiting each number 3, 2, and 1 time, respectively. Yes, it's probably easier to remember your way.
